Mount NTFS partition With Write Permission

Install ntfs-3g first

sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g ntfs-config

Check partition uuid and dev id

sudo blkid
output:
/dev/sda7: LABEL="PROJECTS" UUID="A82A91682A913472" TYPE="ntfs" PARTLABEL="Basic data partition" PARTUUID="bd3713fd-2717-4957-b516-dd31c67702ef"
/dev/sda8: LABEL="WEBSOFT" UUID="2E70988670985685" TYPE="ntfs" PARTLABEL="Basic data partition" PARTUUID="09e25678-fe8f-42c8-bc4d-866789efe0b6"
/dev/sda9: LABEL="FOUNDATION" UUID="4AA6A537A6A52503" TYPE="ntfs" PARTLABEL="Basic data partition" PARTUUID="c409dfd0-8913-4d3c-bbc7-824dd12dc71c"
/dev/sda10: LABEL="SOFTWARE" UUID="C238AB1B38AB0E0B" TYPE="ntfs" PARTLABEL="Basic data partition" PARTUUID="12d66d12-f6c8-4601-ba02-6017444b3f44"

 

Now edit the fstab form etc

Run

sudo vi /etc/fstab
add below line with proper UUID
UUID=A82A91682A913472 /mnt/PROJECTS ntfs-3g rw,exec,async,auto,user,locale=en_US.utf8,windows_names,umask=7007,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0
UUID=2E70988670985685 /mnt/WEBSOFT ntfs-3g rw,exec,async,auto,user,locale=en_US.utf8,windows_names,umask=7007,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0
UUID=4AA6A537A6A52503 /mnt/FOUNDATION ntfs-3g rw,exec,async,auto,user,locale=en_US.utf8,windows_names,umask=7007,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0
UUID=C238AB1B38AB0E0B /mnt/SOFTWARE ntfs-3g rw,exec,async,auto,user,locale=en_US.utf8,windows_names,umask=7007,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0

Where uid is the user id
id -u raihan
1000
and gid is the user group id
sudo id -g raihan
1000

 

Make Mount point directory

sudo mkdir /mnt/PROJECTS

 

If write permission is not working try fixing Hibernet disk in use issue.

sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda7

 

From Windows stop hibernet

powercfg /h off
